“As with other pieces in our collection, the Cellarette can be personalized using engraved plates, leather color and wood finishes to match [your] motor car,” Gerry Spahn, head of communications for Americas at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars tells Cigar Aficionado.
Both standard and bespoke versions of the Cellarette deliver the ultimate party trick. At the push of a button, compartments of the cigar and whisky chest leap open, and a warm, ambient light emits from within. A serving tray elevates from the polished aluminum and leather-bound unit, highlighting a pair of hand-blown lowball glasses inside. The rocks glasses, emblazoned with the ‘RR’ Rolls-Royce logo, rotate outwards as the chest fully opens. The serving tray is finished in an open-pore wood veneer called ‘Obsidian Ayous,’ complete with an inlay of the brand’s ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ logo.
As the glassware is revealed, a bottle holder and Spanish cedar-lined humidor emerge simultaneously at either end of the chest. The humidor’s wooden tray comfortably fits four toros or Churchill-sized cigars, with space behind the tray for Boveda packets or a humidification bar.
Rolls Royce enthusiasts will note that the design of the hygrometer, located on the side of the cylindrical humidor, is an homage to the Rolls-Royce Phantom’s ‘Indulge’ dashboard clock.
The cigar humidor also features two magnetic attachments: an ashtray and a small container housing a S.T. Dupont lighter and guillotine cutter. Both accessories are engraved with a Rolls-Royce ‘Spirit of Ecstacy’ motif. The lighter is a palladium-plated Le Grand S.T. Dupont—the French company’s top-of-the-line model—capable of producing both a dual soft flame and a towering blue torch flame.
On the other side of the Cellarette sits the leather-lined bottle holder, finished with a polished aluminum fastener, which holds your favorite spirit, whisky or otherwise, magnetically in place.
The Rolls-Royce Cellarette is made at the same facility in Goodwood, West Sussex, where the company’s luxury motor cars are hand built. It’s the latest addition to Rolls-Royce’s super-premium ‘Lifestyle Collection,’ an assortment of home, travel and entertainment goods.
“The Cellarette is assembled in our Bespoke Atelier in Goodwood, home of Rolls-Royce,” Spahn says. “Our Lifestyle Collection contains many luxury creations by the Bespoke Collective at Goodwood; champagne hamper, picnic hamper, scale versions of our motor cars and various collections of handcrafted luggage.”
According to Spahn, you don’t have to live in the United Kingdom to get your hands on the Rolls-Royce Cellarette. It’s available to purchase across the globe.
“The Rolls-Royce Cellarette is available in North America as well as worldwide through Rolls-Royce authorized retailers.”
Now, the only question is: What cigars would you put inside it?
